Eleven years running a video and audio exchange — a decade of it on seven different third-party platforms. HBX is what we built once we knew exactly what was missing.
Bold Collective begins as a video business, buying and reselling online video and mobile video inventory. The category is young, the tooling is thin, and everything runs on somebody else's platform.
Video moves through LKQD, SpringServe, Adtelligent and Publica. Audio moves through Triton, AdsWizz and Soundcast. Some of those migrations were decisions. Most were not — vendors got acquired, support quietly evaporated, or the platform simply stopped keeping up. Every move cost us time we never planned for.
Buyers start counting hops. Supply path optimization means every intermediary has to justify its place. IVT standards rise faster than our vendors' roadmaps, leaving us accountable for traffic quality we could not fully inspect. And in both CTV and audio, demand pushes closer to supply — distance from the inventory becomes the thing that gets you cut.
Two options on the table: stay on the licensed stack, or invest heavily in another white-label platform. We interviewed six firms. None of them could deliver every requirement we had built up over eleven years of working around the gaps.
From scratch, to three pillars we had never found together in one platform: transparency, efficiency and granularity. Always-on non-sampled IVT. Full oRTB 2.6 with every signal targetable and reportable. Atomic QPS with no shaping we didn't author. Every outbound request enriched per bidder.
Off third-party tech entirely, minus a handful of legacy DSP buyers still migrating. Eleven years of direct supply relationships, now running on infrastructure we own end to end — which is why if you need a signal, a filter or a report, we build it.
Product, engineering, ad ops and finance — all in-house, backed by a dedicated engineering team. Between them, 45+ years across seven exchanges and every layer of HBX built from scratch.
No account hierarchy, no ticket queue. Ask for a signal, a filter or a report — you’re asking the person who will build it.
Filter live audio inventory across podcasts, radio, text-to-speech and in-game, then export the list or send it to us as a deal request.
